Probably because one her grandmother was born in Algeria, Rosalie has always been fascinated by North Africa and the Middle East.
Growing up, she was lucky to visit Egypt, Israel, Morocco and Tunisia.
Rosalie studied Arabic at Columbia and wrote her Senior Thesis about the War of Algeria. As part of this project, she traveled on her own to Algiers to interview scholars too often ignored by their French counterparts.
In the long-run, Rosalie would like to work as a policy maker and improve the relations between Europe and the Middle East. More specifically, she wishes to focus on how France could become an even more inclusive societies towards migrants and refugees from the region.
In the meantime, she plans to spend at least a year of the life in the Middle East to improve her Arabic and get a better understanding of the region.
